Cory Pearce, PhDPsychologist in Las Vegas

Frequently Asked Questions

My sessions are in person, here in Las Vegas. You'll find me right next to the South Outlets, where the 215 meets I-15.

I'm in The Office. You've probably seen it: a newly-renovated boutique office building with mid-century-inspired styling.

I don't do online therapy sessions. Honestly? I HATE them.

For an hour, I stare into a lens and try to create a reasonably professional online experience. If I don't do that, therapy suffers, and I can't imagine being miserable during a session is good for my clients.

The one exception: I'm willing to host online sessions for patients with disordered eating, under the right circumstances.

Just reach out! I'll answer any questions you have and figure out a time that works. You can call, but email always gets the quickest response: corypearcephd@gmail.com.

We'll cover the basics, like the general reason you're seeking counseling and why you think I might be the right fit. We'll also figure out whether our schedules line up long enough for therapy to have time to work.

A little less than an hour. The first time we meet, we'll go about 75 to 90 minutes.

I accept select insurance plans, specifically the ones that reimburse at rates high enough to support the quality of care I want to provide. That sets me apart from the cash-only options around town.

Individual adults, male and female. I love kids, but because I love mine, I only meet during school hours.

My doctorate in Clinical Psychology is from Texas Tech University. I've been practicing for more than 25 years.

I'm licensed to work in Nevada only. More technically, for patients who are presently in Nevada.

I am a Christian, and I'm happy to talk about it, but I would not say what I do is Christian therapy.

My hot take: when you mix the two you usually wind up with weak Christianity and bad therapy. I'm a psychologist, and the -ologist part of that means I'm a scientist. That is not in conflict with Christianity. I'm open to talk about my thoughts on these issues with anyone, Christian or not.

So glad you asked! For the new office I spent a year sourcing comfortable chairs with a high back. You wouldn't believe how hard that can be to find these days.

I also have a wide, comfy chair with a recline feature. Please use it to your heart's desire!

Well, there's no couch.

I'm amazed at how many people apologize for crying in session. I know I'm pretty calm, but is there something about me that discourages it? Anymore, I respond to the apology by saying, "I know! Whoever heard of crying in a THERAPY session?"

By all means, keep your eyes from going red or messing up your makeup. But tears often come with the territory. I try to make them good tears.

Of me? You can always ask. I like to keep things informal, but sessions are about you, not me. If I think a question shifts that balance, I'll let you know.

Govee lighting!

"Ro-cham-beau!"
