You Know Exactly What Brings the Relief

You just check. Or wash. Or pray, or confess. Or recite the right words over and over in your head, or gesture, or straighten, or clean.

It works. You feel better for a bit. And the list is so ordinary now that you run it without deciding to.

And none of it is a mystery to you.

You Already Know It Makes No Sense

You’re a grown adult. You know you checked it already. Twice! And that’s the most embarrassing part about it.

Knowing has never been what stops it. You could explain your own OCD better than most people can, and you’d still be back at it an hour from now.

Knowing better and doing it anyway takes something out of you every time.

Your Plan Says When It’s OK to Check

Each time the relief works, you’ve made a small bargain. You get a few easier minutes, and the behavior gets another reason to come back for more.

ERP changes the terms. It tells you when it’s OK to engage in a compulsion without undoing the work you’ve already done.

A plan you can actually run, in an order that makes sense.

You’ll Have a Place to Begin

It takes time and some effort. That’s what the plan is for, and it’s why you have a therapist to guide you through it.

  • Breaks your OCD into pieces you can take on.
  • Hands you thoughts and behaviors to engage in instead.
  • Pairs cognitive tools with the exposure work itself.
  • Draws on methods that have worked for three decades.
  • Let's you do all of it with confidence.

Your effort finally adds up.

Take On Your OCD in Three Phases

  1. 01

    Pick the First Target

You and I pick which part of your OCD comes first, and why that one. The order is deliberate.

The work begins where it should.

  2. 02

    Swap the Compulsion

You get thoughts and behaviors to engage in instead. And you learn when engaging in one won’t undo the work you’ve done.

    The trade starts favoring you.

  3. 03

    Run It with Confidence

You keep at it with the plan in hand and a therapist to guide you through it. It takes time, and some effort.

    You stop paying for relief.

Dogged About Good Science

Fly-by-night trends come and go, and none of them make it onto your plan.

Hi, I'm Cory.

I'm a psychologist, which makes me both a scientist and a practitioner. In plain terms, that's a long time spent studying how people work, and even longer learning from the people sitting across from me.

They say a doctorate is really about learning how to learn. I've been doing exactly that in the therapy room for over 25 years now, more than ten of them in my own practice.

The work is serious enough on its own, so the room doesn't have to be. Therapy goes best when it's easygoing and laid-back, still professional, but human.

It's been a minute since I last wore the jacket and tie.

My real learning has come from the people and the stories along the way. You really are the expert on your own life, and what you do with it.

That's why I'm convinced that together, we can put these problems behind you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Small and specific. You’ll take on something from your own list, with the plan telling you what to do instead of the compulsion, and I’ll be right there while you do it.

By looking at your OCD with you and finding the part where progress is most likely. That first target sets the order, and the rest of it follows from there.

Then you don’t stop it yet. The order accounts for that, and nothing you do at the start undoes what comes later.

It takes time and some effort. That’s what the plan is for, and you’ll have something concrete to measure as you go.

Your name, which compulsions you’re running, and a couple of times you’re reachable. Short is fine.
